Reptiles
-
Give your pet 24 hours to adjust to his new surroundings
before feeding. Then offer him a small amount. If he consumes it,
give him more -- enough for an average-size meal. If the animal doesn't
eat it within the first five minutes, remove it so as not to stress
your pet and try again the next day.
-
Tropical reptile species need a high level of
humidity in their terrarium. The proper amount of humidity will depend
on the season and the region.

Birds
- Nutritional needs depend on the breed, health, and reproductive status
of your pet. Not all birds should be given seed diets. Many species
of parrots can be fed specially formulated pelleted diets.
- Learn how to correctly trim your bird before attempting it on your
own. Smaller birds can be fairly easy to trim and are less likely to
cause injury to their handlers. However, larger birds may cause injury
by biting if not properly restrained.
- A complete physical exam should check all your birds body systems.
